Prenatal Care
Prenatal care, also known as antenatal care, is a type of preventative healthcare. It is provided in the form of checkups, consisting of recommendations on managing a healthy lifestyle and the provision of medical information such as maternal physiological changes in pregnancy, biological changes, and prenatal nutrition including prenatal vitamins, which prevents potential health problems throughout the course of the pregnancy and promotes the mother and child's health alike. The availability of routine prenatal care, including prenatal screening and referral if needed, has played a part in reducing the frequency of maternal death, miscarriages, birth defects, low birth weight, neonatal infections, and other preventable health problems.

Postpartum Care
After the birth of your baby, we will spend additional time with you to insure you and your baby’s vitals are stable. We help establish breastfeeding. There are five visits after in order to assist in your transition from pregnancy to mom. During those visits, there are newborn tests that may be performed, depending on your personal preference.
My Philosophy
Midwifery is more than just a profession; it's a philosophy rooted in holistic care, empowerment, and advocacy for women and their families. At its core, midwifery embraces the belief in the natural process of childbirth and the inherent strength of women's bodies. Rather than viewing childbirth as a medical event, I, as a midwife, emphasize the emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of pregnancy and childbirth.
I prioritize informed choice and shared decision-making, providing individualized care that respects the autonomy and preferences of each woman.
Central to my philosophy is the belief in continuity of care, fostering a trusting relationship between the woman and I throughout the entire childbirth journey. This relationship-based approach not only enhances the quality of care but also empowers women to actively participate in their own healthcare decisions.
In addition to providing clinical care, I often play the role of educator and advocate, offering guidance on nutrition, exercise, and childbirth preparation, and advocating for women's rights in healthcare settings.
Overall, my philosophy is grounded in compassion, respect, and empowerment, with a commitment to promoting the health and well-being of women and their families throughout the childbirth experience.

About me
My name is MagDanah Israel. I am a student midwife completing my third phase in midwifery education and internship. I began my journey in midwifery with the unexpected home birth of my granddaughter. I was near retirement and decided midwifery was going to be my second career. I gave 20 plus years to the City of Detroit as a paramedic. Now I’m ready to give my services to the home birth community.
